Introduction

KeleleGo ("we", "our", or "us") operates the KeleleGo mobile application and website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

Information we collect

Personal information you provide

• Account information: Name, email address (optional for drivers), phone number, password
• Profile information: Profile photo, addresses, vehicle details (for drivers)
• Payment information: Payment method details (processed by third-party providers)
• Communications: Messages, support tickets, feedback
• Business information: Company name, TIN, business type and saved locations (for business accounts)

Information collected automatically

• Location data: Precise GPS coordinates during active deliveries; coarse location for nearby driver matching
• Device information: Device type, OS version, push-notification tokens
• Usage data: Order activity, features used, in-app timestamps
• Diagnostics: Crash reports and basic performance data (no personal identifiers attached)

How we use your information

• Provide and improve the delivery, freight and cross-border services
• Process bookings and send order-related notifications by email, SMS and push
• Match customers with drivers in real time
• Enable live delivery tracking for customers and recipients
• Provide customer support through in-app tickets and chat
• Generate invoices and reports for business accounts
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and policy violations
• Comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations in Uganda and the wider region

Information sharing

We share information only as needed to deliver the service:

• Other users: Pickup, drop-off and recipient details are shared between the customer placing the order and the driver fulfilling it
• Service providers: Payment processors, cloud hosting, SMS gateway, push-notification platform, mapping providers
• Cross-border partners: When you submit a cross-border freight enquiry, the partner you contact receives the enquiry details
• Legal authorities: When required by Ugandan law or by a valid legal order

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third-party advertisers or cross-app trackers.

Data security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, password hashing with bcrypt, and access controls on all internal systems. Sign-in sessions are time-limited and revoked on password change or account deletion.

Your rights

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data through the in-app Profile screen
• Request deletion of your account — see our Account Deletion page for the exact in-app steps and what is kept versus deleted
• Opt out of marketing communications (transactional emails about your orders cannot be opted out of while the account is active)
• Withdraw consent for data processing — note that withdrawing consent for delivery-related data means we cannot continue to provide the service

Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. After deletion, anonymised delivery, invoice and tax records are retained for up to 7 years to comply with Uganda Revenue Authority and consumer-protection requirements. See the Account Deletion page for full detail.

Children's privacy

Our Service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact info@kelelego.com and we will remove the record.

International data transfers

Our servers and some of our service providers are located outside Uganda. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses or equivalent) to keep your information protected.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes are announced via email or in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
